The Primary Montessori Classroom at Srim Academy
Ages 3 to 6 | Nurturing the Whole Child—Mind, Body, and Spirit
At Srim Academy, our Primary Montessori environment is a peaceful, intentional space where children ages 3 to 6 explore, create, and grow at their own pace. Rooted in the Montessori method and enriched with Waldorf-inspired storytelling, nature immersion, and values-based practices, each area of the classroom is designed to support the development of the whole child.

Spiritual Development and Values Education
Each day at Srim Academy includes rituals such as yoga, meditation, classical dance, storytelling, and seasonal songs that cultivate inner peace, gratitude, and compassion. Inspired by both Montessori and Waldorf philosophies, our spiritual education supports children in becoming grounded, joyful, and thoughtful human beings.

Library
Our cozy library, complete with a tent and stuffed animals, offers handpicked books that help with social-emotional learning, like "How to Apologize" and cultural understanding like "10 Gulab Jamuns." Even the fun ones carry a message, like "The Big Road Race" and "Sally's Room."

Outdoor Learning and Nature Exploration
Our outdoor environment is a natural extension of the classroom. Children garden, observe the seasons, and joyfully play in our mud kitchen, gentle water play station, and on a child-friendly seesaw. These experiences nurture movement, cooperation, and a lifelong connection with nature.

Language
Through phonetic sounds, storytelling, and hands-on materials like sandpaper letters and the moveable alphabet, children joyfully progress from spoken language to reading and writing. Language at Srim Academy is alive with meaning and connection. We will also offer language immersion options to parents to enhance multilingual cognitive development.

Peace, Grace and Courtesy
Social harmony is cultivated through daily lessons in kindness, respect, and emotional awareness. Children are guided to resolve conflicts peacefully, practice mindfulness, and care for one another and their environment.

Cultural Studies: Geography, Science, Art, and Music
Children explore the wider world through puzzle maps, science experiments, nature study, music, and art. These experiences inspire curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for life and cultural diversity.

Mathematics
Children explore numbers and operations through tactile, visual materials such as number rods and golden beads. This hands-on approach supports a deep, intuitive understanding of math and nurtures a positive relationship with numbers.

Practical Life
Children build independence, coordination, and confidence through real-life tasks like pouring, sweeping, flower arranging, and food preparation. These meaningful experiences lay the foundation for responsibility, focus, and a love of purposeful work.

Arts, Crafts and Music
Our teachers will engage children with arts, crafts and music related to the holidays of the year celebrated around the world.

Sensorial and Science
Sensorial materials allow children to refine their five senses while exploring color, size, shape, texture, sound, and weight. This area builds a strong foundation for logical thinking and prepares the mind for future academic work.

Nature
Nature will be our teacher, and the children will learn concepts inside and outside the classroom that will nurture their appreciation for Mother Earth.

Imaginative Play
Where does food come from? How do they get to our kitchens? What sorts of livelihoods do people choose, and why? Who are our community helpers? We'll explore all these concepts about the world around us in our imaginative play area during after school time, complete with a checkout counter, kitchen, ice cream store and costume dress-up area.
